When they were both undergraduates at Central Washington University in 1992, they first ran into each other. Despite Jon’s partying and binge drinking habits in college, Jennifer saw something in him and stuck by him. They tied the knot on August 13, 1994, in Washington after Jon made amends for cheating on Jennifer the year before.

The Kitnas have three children together: Jalen, Jada, and Jordan. Jalen, who plays football as his father did, has a contract to play for the University of Florida Gators. Jada attends Arizona State University and works on the football coaching staff. Jordan is a quarterback for Colorado State University in Pueblo, and in 2021, he married his longtime love, Shileigh Kitna. The youngest, Jamison, is currently in high school.
However, there have been recent legal issues surrounding Jalen, who was arrested on allegations of child pornography. The backup quarterback for Florida has been suspended, and the family is currently due in court.

Jennifer Kitna, born Jennifer Diane Durrow, is currently a high school teacher in Portland, Oregon, where she was also born on August 17, 1971. Her parents, Charles Chuck Durrow and his wife, raised her to become a teacher, just like her husband. Jennifer is close to her family, and her younger brother, Tim Ready, is a Portland-based realtor.
