All the Mumbai Indians fans who were pondering why their franchise went hammer-and-tongs after the English pacer Jofra Archer, even though he was injured, can afford a smile now. According to a report, Archer is back bowling in the nets and is expected to be fully fit by March 2023. Archer has not played competitive cricket since July 2021. Yet, he was bought by the 5-time champions for a whopping INR 8 cr.

An ECB spokesperson, while speaking to Cricbuzz, admitted that Archer is making excellent progress and he will be ready for competitive cricket during the initial stages of 2023. Archer is currently part of the England Lions team that is in the UAE undergoing rehab.

Mumbai Indians went ahead with Jofra Archer to support Jasprit Bumrah to form a lethal pace bowling combination. The MI fans were hoping to see them both in action during the previous IPL which did not happen. Since Bumrah is also recovering from his back injury, the MI fans are more than hopeful of seeing the Archer-Bumrah combination in IPL 2023.
