Indian speedster Mohammad Siraj has become the number 1 ODI bowler according to the latest ICC ODI bowler’s rankings published on Wednesday, January 25. Siraj has been spearheading the Indian ODI bowling attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah for quite a while now. He was the top wicket-taker in the recently concluded India vs Sri Lanka ODI series. He was also India’s leading wicket-taker in the One-Day series against New Zealand, which India won.
Several fans took to Twitter to congratulate the 28-year-old on his milestone achievement. One Twitter user made a collage of newspaper clips that termed him as “One Season Wonder”, “From Hero to Zero” and “Siraj Out of Form”. His Tweet headline was “Your apology needs to be as loud as your disrespect was!” Another user thanked Virat Kohli and the RCB team management for sticking with him when the going was tough for him. Overall, his fans were very happy to see his exponential growth in all forms of the game.
Siraj now has 729 rating points and has pipped the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Trent Boult, Mitchell Starc and Rashid Khan to grab the top spot in the ODI bowler’s ranking published by ICC.
