Former India player Ajay Jadeja had some advice to give the young Shubman Gill who bagged his maiden test century in the ongoing test match against Bangladesh. Jadeja advised young Gill to make the most of his purple patch and keep improving that will help him serve Indian cricket for a long time to come. He admitted that since his debut, Gill has shown a lot of improvements and the process should continue.
During a talk show on Sony Sports, Jadeja also brought up the curious case of Prithvi Shaw who could not consolidate his place in the senior team despite hitting a century in his debut match. By citing Shaw’s example, Jadeja wanted to warn Gill that the daily improvement process should not stop with him.
Gill hit his maiden test century on the 3rd day of the first test match at Chattogram. His 152-ball 110 played an instrumental role in helping India score briskly and post a mammoth 4th innings total on the board. His previous best of 95 came against Australia in Brisbane where India was chasing over 300 in the final innings against a quality Australian bowling attack.
