RCB IPL Playoff Qualification 2023: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Faf du Plessis, have secured 12 points from the 12 games they have played so far, placing them fifth on the IPL points table. However, they still need to secure a playoff berth. To qualify for the top four spots, RCB must win their remaining two league-stage games against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.

RCB IPL Playoff Qualification Scenario 2023

If RCB wins both games, they will have a total of 16 points. However, to increase their chances of qualifying, they also need to ensure that they win these games by a good margin to improve their Net Run Rate (NRR). Since several teams are vying for a playoff spot, having a positive NRR can give RCB an advantage over other teams.

But even if RCB wins their next two games, it’s still not a surety that they will make it to the playoffs. The NRR will play a vital role in determining their position in the playoff race. If RCB fails to win convincingly in their remaining games, their NRR could be a crucial factor in determining their position in the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, and at least one of Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are expected to finish with more than 14 points. Therefore, even if RCB wins their remaining games, they will still need to rely on their positive NRR to secure a spot in the top four.

In the best-case scenario, RCB, along with Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings, will finish with 16 points, and the NRR will come into play to decide which team qualifies for the playoffs. In such a scenario, the team with a better run rate will move forward.
