Granblue Fantasy: Relink Release Date: Cygames has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Granblue Fantasy: Relink during the Gamescom Opening Night Live live stream. This eagerly anticipated game is set to make its debut on February 1, 2024, across multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
One standout feature is the cross-play compatibility in the multiplayer mode, allowing seamless gameplay between the PlayStation consoles. The game is set to cater to a wide international audience with localization plans for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages. Notably, game director Tetsuya Fukuhara expressed back in February 2019 that the release will be simultaneous worldwide.
Despite encountering a series of delays, the game’s development team has worked diligently to overcome challenges, particularly the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent delay was announced in June 2022, shifting the release timeline to 2023. The team cited the need for further optimization during the final stages of development.
An interesting historical note reveals that Cygames took over the development reins from Platinum Games in February 2019, signaling a new direction for the project.

The heart of the game lies in its action role-playing mechanics, brought to life through captivating illustrations by Cygames and CyDesignation. With Koichi Haruta as the producer, Tetsuya Fukuhara as the director, Hideo Minaba as the character designer, and the musical talents of Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, players can expect a rich and immersive experience. The game’s narrative promises fresh and engrossing storytelling.
Players will have the exciting choice between embodying a male character (traditionally referred to as Gran in other franchise media) or a female character (known as Djeeta in other media). Additionally, a host of beloved characters like Lyria, Vyrn, Katalina, Rackam, Io, Eugen, Rosetta, Rolan, Lancelot, Vane, Percival, Siegfried, Narmaya, Yodarha, and Charlotta are confirmed to be part of this grand adventure. The formidable Furycane will appear as a primal beast, while the enigmatic Id is slated to make an appearance as an antagonist.
This latest installment follows Cygames’ original Granblue Fantasy smartphone game, which was introduced in 2014. Fans can also look forward to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, a thrilling fighting game from Cygames, set to launch on November 30 for PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam.
