BCCI sources have confirmed that Rishabh Pant has undergone successful knee surgery for a ligament tear in Mumbai on 7 January. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman tore the ligament on his right knee when he got injured in a car accident near Roorkee during the early hours of December 30, 2022. Pant is currently under observation and will undergo the next phase of treatment and rehabilitation under the supervision of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. The BCCI sports science and medicine team will work closely with Dr. Dinshaw for the speedy recovery of Pant. 

Pant underwent knee surgery at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri West. Pant was flown to Mumbai on January 04 by BCCI to treat the ligament tear on his right knee. Pant will miss cricket for at least 6 months. 

Pant’s car crashed into a divider on 30 December near Roorkee due to which he got injured. He was supposed to report to the NCA for a 2-week knee strengthening and rehabilitation program in January. 

In the meantime, prayers poured in from all across the globe for the speedy recovery of Rishabh Pant. Meera Rautela also sent her well-wishes to Pant through her official Instagram account. Meera Ruatela is actress Urvashi Rautela’s mother, with whom, Pant had earlier gotten into some controversies.
