The toss for the India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI has been won by the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and he has decided to field first. New Zealand skipper Tom Latham also agreed that he would have bowled first. The decision to bowl first stems mainly from the fact that the venue, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur, is hosting its first international match. Also, there is expected to be dew in the evening.

Both India and New Zealand have decided to field an unchanged playing 11 for the second ODI in Raipur. India defeated the Kiwis by 12 runs in the 1st ODI at Hyderabad and is currently leading by 1-0 in the series.
